There are many volunteer positions available at Western Missouri Medical Center. The primary duties of the volunteer in the East or West Lobby is to greet all those entering the Medical Center, give directions as needed, and serve as a receptionist to help keep the registration area flowing smoothly. A volunteer may also escort patients to areas they are not familiar with. The primary duties of the volunteer working in the Ambulatory Care Lobby is to make patients and their friends and family feel comfortable, acting as a liaison between medical staff and family. Volunteers also work in the Gift Shop, as well as assist nursing staff and physicians.
